1.Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("Flare", "we", "us") about your use of the Flare app and website. By creating an account or using Flare, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Flare.
2.Early test build
Flare is currently an early test build. Features may change or stop working, and all accounts and data will be permanently deleted before the end of 2026, most likely in December 2026. See our Privacy Policy for what gets deleted.
3.Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Flare.
- You may have only one account, and it must be yours.
- The information you give us, including your date of birth and photos, must be accurate, and you must complete phone and selfie verification.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your phone number secure.
4.Community rules
Be kind and be real. You must not:
- harass, threaten, bully or stalk anyone;
- post or send hate speech, or target people for who they are;
- post nudity or sexually explicit content;
- scam, defraud or deceive other users;
- solicit money, or advertise or sell goods or services, including sexual services;
- create fake profiles or impersonate anyone; or
- share anyone else's personal information without their permission.
We have zero tolerance for anything that endangers minors. See our Child Safety Standards.
5.Meeting in person
Flare helps people meet in real life. You are responsible for your own safety when you meet someone. We don't run criminal background checks, and we can't guarantee how other users will behave.
Safety tips
- Meet in a public place, and stay in public for the first few dates.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Arrange your own transport, and keep your phone charged.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave, and report or block the person in the app.
6.Content you post
You own the content you post on Flare, such as photos, your bio and messages. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display and process that content only as needed to operate and improve the service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep it as described in our Privacy Policy.
You must have the rights to anything you post, and it must follow these Terms.
7.Moderation, suspension and termination
We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk, with or without notice.
You can stop using Flare and delete your account at any time.
8.Flare Plus
Flare Plus is an optional subscription that is coming soon. When it becomes available, these billing terms will apply: [FLARE PLUS BILLING TERMS — price, billing period, renewal, cancellation and refunds].
9.Disclaimers
Flare is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you will find a match. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline.
10.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of Flare or your interactions with other users. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to [LIABILITY CAP — e.g. the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim]. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Disputes will be handled in the courts of [JURISDICTION], unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
12.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Flare after that, you accept the new Terms.
